Where is the Park?

White Horse Holiday Park is on the A353 between Preston and Osmington, on the left as you go towards Weymouth. We are three miles by road from Weymouth centre and one and a half miles by road from the beach at Overcombe. See map below.

Driving to the Park

Arriving from the east, Poole or London direction, you can leave the A35 and A31 at Bere Regis and travel via Wool and the A352. Alternatively another two miles on the A35 and you can take the B3390. Either of these is much shorter and quicker than going by Dorchester and Weymouth.

From or via the midlands or from the west country, travel via Dorchester and the A354. You should turn left at traffic lights in Broadwey on the outskirts of Weymouth to avoid Weymouth town centre. This will bring you to Preston, take the A353 towards Osmington.

Public Transport to the Park

If you are not coming by car you will normally want to take a taxi from Weymouth. While there are good bus services in the Weymouth area there is not one which will bring you to the entrance to the Park.

You can reach Weymouth by train or by bus. There are hourly or more frequent trains from Waterloo and also a direct service from Bristol. There are good long distance bus or coach services to Weymouth from a number of towns and cities.

You can also leave the train or bus in Dorchester and take a taxi, however this is a somewhat longer and possibly much more expensive taxi ride. NB the Park is within the Weymouth and Portland Borough limits.

Upwey is the nearest railway station to the Park, but not recommended unless you can arrange to be met. Moreton is a useful station if you are coming from the London (Poole or Bournemouth) direction and can arrange to be met, it saves nearly twenty minutes on the train and is only about a twelve minute drive from the Park. But NB neither of these stations is routinely attended by taxis and calling for a taxi would normally incur a pickup fee. Also consider Wool station, a little further away in the London (Poole or Bournemouth) direction. We regret we cannot offer transport ourselves, to do so would require us to insure as a taxi, apart from any other issues.
