The village of Preston is about a half mile from White Horse Holiday Park. Here there are two small supermarkets combining Post Office and newsagent, fish and chip shops, and two pubs.
A greater choice of shops can be found on the outskirts of Weymouth and of course in the town centre.
Weymouth has the facilities and attractions one would expect of a major holiday resort and is host to numerous events throughout the year, see the Weymouth and Portland tourism website. There is a picturesque old harbour with many shops, cafes, and bars, and a yacht marina. The beach is lovely, clean and safe, and 2 miles long, with all the traditional seaside holiday treats. Parts of the beach away from the town are usually uncrowded.
Many of the beautiful villages nearby are well worth a visit, as are their country inns.
